  • Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. (AFSP)

CDC researchers studied suicide rates from 1999-2016 and generated the graph below depicting state-specific suicide percentages. The research showed a nearly 30 percent increase in the United States. All but 1 state had an increase (Nevada had a 1% decrease). Georgia experienced a 16.2 percent increase.
